When I first got started online, I was determined to make it work. And many things I tried did not work. Beginning my search was a scary endeavor and I spent money on many products that I soon learned were scams. In my search I finally found something that was legal, honest, and produced a good income. Here is my advice and a list of basics for anyone seeking Internet business from home.
1. Be weary of those that request money! There are a few legatee sites that request a registration fee but they provide you with information as to why they desire this fee and they are very upfront about what you are paying for. Usually the fee is very low ($2.99 a month or so)
2. Find something that you are interested in. You will NOT be happy working from home doing something that you are not interested in. There are many forms of income to be made. Lots of freelance work, ranging from writing, programming, admin duties, and home inspection work etc. All of these can provide you monthly income for little or no expenses on your part.
3. My most important piece of information. If you find a company that you are interested in, do a search on that company. Simply type the name in a search engine and read the results. People will have posted the negative and positive on these companies and it will aide you making your decision.
These simple basic steps can save you a lot of money as well as make you a decent monthly income. All I needed was grocery money and a little spending money to stay home. However, the first month I was spending more money because I didn't know any better. Hopefully these basics will prevent you from making the same mistake I did!
